I am Grateful for Overcoming Challenges

Day 11: I am Grateful for Overcoming Challenges.

You may ask me, "Why are you Grateful for Overcoming Challenges?"
I am Grateful for Overcoming Challenges because Challenges is apart of our daily lives, overcoming challenges is a great feeling, overcoming challenges helps me to feel strong, and overcoming challenges helps me to become a better person.
We must admit, we all go through challenges and we all go through times to overcome challenges. It always takes time to overcome challenges. We shouldn't expect overcoming challenges is a easy thing to do.

I think overcoming challenges is a learning experience for everyone.
I think overcoming challenges is to help everyone to become a stronger person.
I think overcoming challenges is to help everyone to become a better person than they were before facing the challenges.

I encourage you to think about following questions and feel free to answer any of the questions in comments below (if it isn't personal):

"Are you grateful for Overcoming Challenges?"
"If so, why are you grateful for overcoming challenges?"

"Have you felt the difference between how you felt before facing the challenge to after facing the challenge?"

"What are you doing to overcome the challenges that you have?"

I am Grateful for Missionary Work

Day 10: I am Grateful for Missionary Work.

You may ask me, "Why are you grateful for Missionary Work?"
I am Grateful for Missionary Work because I always love sharing the gospel with others, I always get to experience what it is like to be a Sister Missionary already, I always learning something new when I go with the Missionaries, it always helps me to build a stronger testimony about Missionary Work and many other reasons.
I would like to share with you of some things that I have learnt in the past that is somehow related to Missionary Work:

"Never estimate of how much the hard work that Missionaries do day to day and night to night. Missions takes a lot of dedication, time, effort and a lot of service.
Teaching by the spirit is a most important thing to remember.
Go on a mission when you are prepared.
Pray and fast if the mission is for you or not.
Prepare to have some answers to investigator's answers.
Put a lot of trust and faith in Heavenly Father."

I know that I already mention this "I encourage you to spend a day or attend a lesson with the Missionaries. Arrange time and organise with the Missionaries near you. You will be able to learn so much from attending a lesson or spending a day with them." or similar on one of my blog posts last year, but it is very nice experience to do so.

Think about this question: Why are you grateful for Missionary Work?

I am Grateful for Institute

Day 9: I am Grateful for Institute.

You may ask me, "Why am I grateful for Institute?"
I am grateful for Institute because I always try to go to Institute often, the nearest Institute class is about 40 minutes to 45 minutes drive away from home, I have a few friends who comes to Institute, and I am always learning something new when I go.

Each time I go to Institute; I always strive to achieve the following:
Learning something new. Share any inputs that relates to the lesson.
Making Institute a priority. Being prepared by reading the lesson before attending.
Also being prepared reading scripture references before attending.

Trust me, sometimes it feels like my answers are wrong.
Sometimes it feels like that I already know the answers.
I love a quote that says "I ask you to make Institute a priority." from Thomas S. Monson.
Institute isn't just for church members who graduated Seminary the year before and who in Young Single Adult ages. Institute is also for married couples too and anyone is welcome to attend.

If you have nothing stopping you going to Institute, I encourage you to go to Institute. Institute is great!!! I think you will love Institute. You can always learn something new each week. You can always make new friends when you go to Institute. You can always make your testimony stronger by attending Institute often.

If you haven't heard of Institute before or have some questions about Institute, well here's a link below of frequent questions and answers about Institute:

"Thank you for being who you are." "You are a amazing example to me."
"You look so young, young as a 15 year old girl."
Today, a 5 year old girl or 6 year old girl asked me "Are you a mother?" In my head was like "Wow, someone who is very young thinks that I am a mother. I wasn't wearing an engagement ring. I wasn't wearing a wedding ring." I replied to her, saying "No. I am not a mother."

Then the same girl asked me the same question about 3 times. I kept saying "No, I am not a mother." I was happy to take that as a nice compliment for the day. I couldn't get over it.

18 Months in Korea Seoul South Mission (Lina Tuaputa)

Lina informed me when her mission call arrived. Immediately, I felt so happy for her.
I 1st met Lina sometime after a multistake Young Single Adult Fireside in July, last year.
I spent a lot of time with Lina before Sister Marah Dixon left for her mission.
I don't really spend much time with Lina since Sister Marah Dixon left, but that's okay.

Lina invited me to attend her Mission Call Opening. I was so happy for Lina!
At first, I decided not to go because I never been to a Mission Call Opening before.
Yesterday, I made the decision and I decided to go to Lina's Mission Call Opening.
Lina is reading her Mission Call
"Dear Sister Tuaputa,
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labour in Korea Seoul South Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months. You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. You will prepare to to preach the gospel in the Korean language."
Lina and some of her friends that came, including me.
I already have started a countdown until the day she reports to Provo MTC.
She will be a great Sister Missionary serving in Korea Seoul South Mission.
She reports in 100 Days, that is equal to Three Months and Ten Days!

Lina; if you are reading this post right now, I have done a little note for you.

"Hey Lina! All the best for your Mission. I know that I will miss you heaps.
You will be missed heaps by your family, your relatives and your friends.
I hope that we can stay in touch throughout your Mission.

You will be a great Sister Missionary. All the best for the next stage for preparing your Mission. Always remember to put your faith and trust in Heavenly Father always.
Thank you so much for inviting me to your Mission Call Opening.

From Megan Green." Stay tuned until next time.

The Way of the Disciple

I love a section The Way of the Disciple from "The Merciful Obtain Mercy" by Dieter F. Utchdoft in April General Conference talk.

I would like to share with you what he says.
"Consider the following questions as a self-test:
Do you harbor a grudge against someone else?
Do you gossip, even when what you say may be true?
Do you exclude, push away, or punish others because of something they have done?
Do you secretly envy another? Do you wish to cause harm to someone?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may want to apply the two word sermon from earlier: stop it!
In a world of accusations and unfriendliness, it is easy to gather and cast stones. But before we do so, let us remember the words of the One who is our Master and model: “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.”

Let us put down our stones. Let us be kind. Let us forgive.
Let us talk peacefully with each other. Let the love of God fill our hearts.
“Let us do good unto all men.”

The Savior promised: “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over. For with the same measure that [you use] it shall be measured to you again.”

Shouldn’t this promise be enough to always focus our efforts on acts of kindness, forgiveness, and charity instead of on any negative behavior?

Let us, as disciples of Jesus Christ, return good for evil.
Let us not seek revenge or allow our wrath to overcome us.

“For it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
“Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink.
“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Remember: in the end, it is the merciful who obtain mercy.

As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, wherever we may be, let us be known as a people who “have love one to another.”

Do you try to be a disciple of Jesus Christ day by day?
Do you try to be a disciple of Jesus Christ night by night?
Would you do the things that you are doing now if the Saviour stood beside you?

Stay tuned until next time.

A Recent YSA Fireside Based on Distractions From What Matters Most

Throughout this post, it mentions "YSA." YSA stands for Young Single Adults.

On Sunday evening, I attended a Multistake YSA Fireside at Forestdale Chapel.
It was the last event to end the weekend of Multistake YSA Service Convention.
I always strive my best to keep some of my friends updated about my week each week.

Two friends who is serving in two different missions, they asked me three fireside related questions via emails. The questions that I got asked was;
"how did the fireside go?" "How was the fireside?" "What did they speak about?"
It gave me a idea to do a blog post about the most recent YSA fireside.

How did the fireside go? Good. How was the fireside? The fireside was good.
What did they speak about? I will share with you some notes that I took.

What is distraction?
A distraction is something that takes your attention away from what you're supposed to be doing. For example: If I was taking the clothes off the line and stopped to look at my phone for notifications. That is a distraction.

The YSA got asked: What are the distractions do we face in YSAs today?
We mentioned about "Facebook," "social media," "phones," "peer pressure," "friends," "families,"  and other things that are distractions. Life is full of distractions.

The YSA got asked: What matters most to you?
Some YSAs mentioned, "gospel," "atonement," "family," "friends," "life," "food," "your testimony," "physical health" "mental health" and other things.

I asked myself: What matters most to me?
I would like to share with you, my answer and I encourage you to respect my answer.
Everything that involves with the true gospel such as Heavenly Father's Plan, The Saviour's Atonement, my Family, friends who are serving their missions, the scriptures, Church songs, attending the Temple often,  the teachings of the gospel, etc.

If the true gospel wasn't my first preference; I would say, "my Family, my relatives, my life, my Best Friends, my Close Friends, my Friends, my talents, and the things that I have learnt throughout my life so far."

I encourage you to think about "what matters the most to you?" and feel free to share via comments below. Stay Tuned until next time.

Using My Time Wisely

I encourage you to think about this question, "How do you use your time wisely?"

I would like to share with you of some ways how I use my time wisely:
I go to the Temple often. I go to Church often. I fulfill my Calling often. I blog often.
I email some of my friends who are on their missions often. I go to Institute often.
I read my scriptures often. I go with the Missionaries sometimes.
I spend time with my friends sometimes. I sing to some songs sometimes.
I send letters to a few of my friends who are on their missions regularly.

I would like to share my short testimony based on using my time wisely.

"I know when I use my time wisely, I receive greater blessings.
I always see myself filled with joy and happiness when I use my time wisely.
I hope everyone can use their time wisely. Time is precious.

I love a quote that says "Be sure that being busy equals being productive.
Time wisely used is immeasurable." - Elder Ian S. Ardern.
I leave these things are true. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

If you think that you aren't using your time wisely, start using your time wisely.

Be Ye Reconciled to God

Yesterday morning, I attended Church. I attended North Pine Ward for the first time.
I love learning something new. I learnt a lot during my time in the ward.

I would like to share with you what I learnt in Young Single Adult Sunday School Class.
All what I shared is part of the Student Manual for the Sunday School Class.
It was a great lesson.
"Be Ye Reconciled to God"

1. Overcoming Tribulation
“Alma revealed that Jesus knows how to succor us in the midst of our griefs and sicknesses precisely because Jesus has already borne our griefs and sicknesses (Alma 7:11–12). He knows them firsthand; thus His empathy is earned. Of course, we do not comprehend it fully any more than we understand how He bore all mortal sins, but His Atonement remains the rescuing and reassuring reality”

2. Forgiving Others
“If there be any who nurture in their hearts the poisonous brew of enmity toward another, I plead with you to ask the Lord for strength to forgive. This expression of desire will be of the very substance of your repentance. It may not be easy, and it may not come quickly. But if you will seek it with sincerity and cultivate it, it will come."
3. Feeling Guilty Sorrow
President Spencer W. Kimball explained: “If one is sorry only because someone found out about his sin, his repentance is not complete. Godly sorrow causes one to want to repent, even though he has not been caught by others, and makes him determined to do right no matter what happens. This kind of sorrow brings righteousness and will work toward forgiveness”

4. Becoming reconciled to God
Elder Bruce R. McConkie taught: “Reconciliation is the process of ransoming man from his state of sin and spiritual darkness and of restoring him to a state of harmony and unity with Deity. Man, who was once carnal and evil, who lived after the manner of the flesh, becomes a new creature of the Holy Ghost; he is born again; and, even as a little child, he is alive in Christ”

Striving Continuously

I had no idea what to post this evening. This post is based on "Striving Continuously." This post is short and sweet. I love a song called "Live Like You Believe by Jenny Phillips." It's a great song and I encourage you to listen to the song. I hope you can see the Video below.
If you can't see the Video above, here's the link below;
www.youtube.com/watch?v=dM2dWn8cuSg

I shared the song with you because all of my life I have lived like I believe. I always strive to continue to have high standards. I always strive to do what is right. I always strive to stand up what I believe in by not getting myself into those type of situations that I know I will loose the spirit. I don't like loosing the spirit.
Readers, I encourage you to think about the following few questions in your own time.
"What does it mean to striving continuously?"
"What does it mean for others?" and "What can you do to strive continuously?"
Stay tuned until next time.

Look Ahead and Believe

We may not able to look ahead as what the future has held for us. When we trust in Heavenly Father, he knows what's best for us and knows what's in store for us in his timing. This post is based on a General Conference in October 2013 called "Look Ahead and Believe by Elder Edward Dube."

I will share with you some highlights that I loved throughout the talk.

"My dear brothers and sisters, the covenant we made with the Lord when we were baptised, “to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that [we] may be in” (Mosiah 18:9), is a lifelong commitment. President Dieter F. Uchtdorf counseled, “Those who have entered the waters of baptism and received the gift of the Holy Ghost have set their feet on the path of discipleship and are charged to follow steadily and fully in the footsteps of our Savior” (“Saints for All Seasons,” Ensign, Sept. 2013).

The Lord through His servants calls us to serve in various callings, which we accept with total commitment. When a release has been extended and a call in a different assignment has been issued, we joyfully accept it, knowing, as our forebearers knew, that “in the service of the Lord, it is not where you serve but how” (J. Reuben Clark Jr., in Conference Report, Apr. 1951,).
As we look ahead and believe, we need this same teamwork in hastening the work of salvation as we invite others to come unto Christ. In our individual capacities, we need to follow the counsel of President Dieter F. Uchtdorf to “stand close together and lift where we stand” (“Lift Where You Stand,” Ensign, Nov. 2008). We can tap our full potential, just as was observed by Elder L. Tom Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve:

“As I travel throughout the Church I marvel at all the positive things that are occurring. Yet I never feel that we, as a people, are living up to our real potential. My sense is that we do not always work together, that we are still too much interested in aspirations for personal honors and success, and show too little interest in the common goal of building the kingdom of God” (“United in Building the Kingdom of God,” Ensign, May 1987).

May we all unite in a common objective “to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39).

Our guiding principles were taught to us by the Prophet Joseph Smith: “The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith [2007],)."

In your own time, you can read the whole talk, Here's the link below, and I hope you will enjoy reading it. www.lds.org/general-conference/2013/10/look-ahead-and-believe

We All Have Agency to Choose

In this life, there are things worth having 2nd chances.
In this life, we all experience excitement times. In this life, we all have choices.
In this life, we all imperfect. In this life, we all have different stories to tell.

In this life, we all face struggles. In this life, we all experience hardships.
In this life, we all have different goals but some goals would be the same.
In this life, we all learning something new. In this life, we all face trails.

In this life, we can choose to be supportive. In this life, we all face temptations.
In this life, we all have talents. In this life, we all can choose to love everyone.
In this life, we all have different techniques of ways of doing things.
In this life; we all can choose of how we feel.

In this life, we all can accept who God is.
In this life, we all have someone to talk to.
I love the Image above. If you can't see the Image, it says
"I am free to choose. I can choose the wrong way or I can choose the right way. Wrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it. Right is right even if no one is doing it.
I choose to use clean language. I choose to say I'm sorry. I choose to be honest.
I choose to be kind. I choose to pray for help. I choose to help others in need.
I choose only clean movies, music and games. I choose to take care of my body.
I choose to follow Jesus Christ, even if I'm scared, even if I'm tired, even if I stand alone, I choose the right."

It is so true because I can always relate to it. I hope someone can relate to it too.
Stay tuned until next time.

Why Should We Love God?

I know God loves ALL OF HIS CHILDREN.

I would like to share with you part of Dieter F. Utchdorf's talk "The Love of God" when he said about why should we love God.

"Why Should We Love God?
God the Eternal Father did not give that first great commandment because He needs us to love Him. His power and glory are not diminished should we disregard, deny, or even defile His name. His influence and dominion extend through time and space independent of our acceptance, approval, or admiration.

No, God does not need us to love Him. But oh, how we need to love God!
For what we love determines what we seek.
What we seek determines what we think and do.
What we think and do determines who we are and who we will become.
We are created in the image of our heavenly parents; we are God’s spirit children. Therefore, we have a vast capacity for love it is part of our spiritual heritage. What and how we love not only defines us as individuals; it also defines us as a church. Love is the defining characteristic of a disciple of Christ.

Since the beginning of time, love has been the source of both the highest bliss and the heaviest burdens. At the heart of misery from the days of Adam until today, you will find the love of wrong things. And at the heart of joy, you will find the love of good things."

Stay tuned until next time.

Can You or Will You?

This post is short and sweet,
I actually agreed with what the Image says, it's so true and I reckon it applies to us a lot. It applies to Deference into Faith.
We all need to defense our faith at some point in our lives.

It applied to me before by one of my non-member friends was trying to tell me that the religion that he used to attend to say it is all good and all that. I have strongly said to him about our religion as Latter Day Saints/Mormon. Further on through the conversation, he mentioned to me something that I really needed to know and he said "I will be your friend no matter what."

I was so happy for him  to say that. Sometimes, it is hard to Defense your Faith because you might be afraid of what your actions and sayings might impact people who doesn't have the same belief as you. That is why sometimes it is easier to forget about what people think.

Happy Father's Day!

This post is short and sweet. Today is a important day. Today is Father's Day.
I love the Image below because it describes my Dad.
On the Image, does any of the words describes your Dad in any way?
Dad if you are reading this blog post;
"Dear Dad,
Happy Father's Day! I hope you will have a good day today.
Don't allow any little things let you down on this day.
Thank you for always being my Dad.

I love spending some time with you. I appreciated everything that you do.
I love you heaps and please don't ever forget that."

I loved a video that is about Father's Day on www.lds.org and I would like to share it with you all. Here's the link below;

Have Faith

I encourage you to think about the following questions;
What is the meaning of Faith? What does it mean for me to have Faith?
What does it mean for someone else to have faith?
I love a song called "Have Faith by Elizabeth South."
I think the song talks about having Faith in God when I listen to the song.
If you haven't heard of the song before, I encourage you to listen to the song.
Here's a video below of the song; I hope you will enjoy listening to the song.
When we have down times, we need to Have Faith to get through those times.
When we are driving anywhere from Home, we need to Have Faith that we will get to other places that we need to go to safely.

In closing, I would like to share with you a part of the lyrics that I loved while listening to the song. That part was "If we will reach out to Him, He'll hear our cry and though things may not be so good. He'll work it out and though we may fall, He'll lift us up."

Dare to Stand Alone

This post is based on a October 2014 General Conference talk that I loved.
It is called "Dare to Stand Alone by Thomas S. Monson."
What does Dare to Stand Alone means for you?
What does Dare to Stand Alone means for someone else?

In our daily lives, we do have times when we felt alone.
In our daily lives, we do have times when we feel like no one is listening.
I liked President Thomas S. Monson's experience at the Navy when he dared himself to stand alone. Why can't we stand alone if we aren't doing it already?
I remembered when I was High School, I kept my Standards High, I was always proud to be a Latter-Day Saint/Mormon and I stayed strong and true to what I believe in.

I remembered answering some of the questions that my non-member friends had when I was in High School. I knew my non-member friends was watching my behaviour, attitude and actions in class.

I have so many experiences when I dared to stand alone. Here's a few experiences when it makes it clear that I am a Latter-Day Saint/Mormon.

When I was doing Certificate II in Hospitality, some students noticed that I didn't drink Tea and Coffee. I remembered a student was reading along of a Text book and she mentioned "Latter-Day Saint/Mormon" and asked me "Isn't that what you are Megan?" I said "Yes."

When I was doing Certificate II in Retail, I was asked "Megan, are you a Mormon?" by a student. I was happily to say "Yes I am."

When I was doing Certificate II in Workplace Practices, my class listened to EFY 2012 CD that I bought into class one day. My teacher asked the students to bring appropriate music for the whole class to listen to instead of having some students to listening to their own music for free time.

Has there been a time when you have needed to stand alone in doing what you know is right? Share your experience if it isn't too personal below.

Stay tuned until next time.

One Year of Having Provisional Licence 1

One Year ago today, I got my Provisional Licence 1 (Red P's).
I drove a lot of places since then. It has given me some freedom.
Two Years ago today, I was still on my Learners and learning how to drive.
If you ever ask me, "What was your favourite places that you drove to since you got your Provisional Licence 1 and why?"

My answer is "Brisbane Latter-Day Saint Temple and Perth Latter-Day Saint Temple because I always felt peace, comfort and happiness whenever I arrive at those places."

Within One Year, I drove in 2 different states of Australia.
I drove in Queensland for 11 months and Western Australia for 4 weeks.

In Queensland; I drove to Brisbane Latter-Day Saint Temple, Brisbane Airport, Brisbane City, Brisbane & Surrounding Areas, Logan & Surrounding Areas, Toowoomba, Gold Coast & Surrounding Areas, and Ipswich & Surrounding Areas.

In Western Australia; I drove to Perth Latter-Day Saint Temple, Perth Airport, Perth City, Fremantle, Warwick & Surrounding Areas, Bunbury, Mandurah and Rockingham & Surrounding Areas.

Any day now, I can do a Hazard Perception Test and the Test is available for me to do online. If I pass the test, I get my Provisional Licence 2 (Green P's).
I really hope that I do pass the test sometime this month.

I tried going for my Hazard Perception Test this afternoon. I didn't get pass.
I know why I didn't pass. Better luck tomorrow. I hope I do pass tomorrow.

Powerful Testimony Tips

You may ask me "What is a Testimony?"
A Testimony is a spiritual witness given by the Holy Ghost.
.
You can make a Powerful Testimony by doing the following things;

1. Fasting:
It can help you to feel the promptings of the Holy Ghost to know what to say.

2. Keep it simple:
A testimony is made up of simple statements of truth. Elder Scott shared, "Share principles that help those you love to press forward along the path to eternal life. Remember, we all grow line upon line. You have followed that same pattern in your understanding of the gospel. Keep your sharing of the gospel simple" at April General Conference last year.

3. Use "I know" Statements:
I know when Testimonies are powerful. It is when people say "I know" statements. As Elder Ballard explains, "My experience throughout the Church leads me to worry that too many of our members’ testimonies linger on 'I am thankful' and 'I love,' and too few are able to say with humble but sincere clarity, 'I know.'"

When we bear our testimonies of principles we have come to know are true, he says, our meetings will have "the testimony-rich, spiritual underpinnings that stir the soul and have meaningful, positive impact on the lives of all those who hear them."

4. Include these truths:
President Uchtdorf explains, "A testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ will always include these clear and simple truths:
- God lives. He is our loving Father in Heaven, and we are His children.
- The Book of Mormon is the word of God.

5. Bear your Testimony often:
President Packer declared, "Oh, if I could teach you this one principle: a testimony is to be found in the bearing of it!"

I think we all need to share our Testimony often, not just in sacrament meetings. Share it in whatever words come. Share it knowing that the spirit will testify of truth to the hearts of those listening.

I shared some of the information from LDSLiving.
Here's the link to read their version.
