Your Next Step

This post is based on a recent General Conference talk called "Your Next Step" by Elder Randall K. Bennett. I would like to share with you some highlights while I was reading the talk.

He mentioned,
"Your loving Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, invite you to take your next step toward Them. Don’t wait. Take it now. We have heaven’s help because of Jesus Christ and His Atonement. The Savior said, “If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.” When faith is exercised, faith increases.

Let’s consider together three principles that will help us on our journey back to our Father in Heaven.

Become as a Child: The Savior taught that to inherit the kingdom of God, we must become as a little child. So, spiritually speaking, the first principle is that we need to do what we did as children.

With childlike humility and willingness to focus on our Father in Heaven and our Savior, we take steps toward Them, never giving up hope, even if we fall. Our loving Heavenly Father rejoices in each and every faithful step, and if we fall, He rejoices in each effort to get back up and try again.
Act with Faith: Our willingness to take a step is not just met; it is exceeded by the Lord’s promised blessings. Heavenly Father and our Savior are eager to bless us. After all, They ask only for one-tenth of what They bless us with and then promise that the windows of heaven will open!

Whenever we willingly act with faith in Jesus Christ and take another step, especially an uncomfortable step requiring change or repentance, we are blessed with strength.

Overcome the Natural Man: We must counter the natural man’s tendency to procrastinate, to put off, or to give up. As we progress along the covenant path, we will make mistakes, some multiple times.

Some of us struggle with behaviors or addictions we feel powerless to overcome. But faith in Heavenly Father and in Jesus Christ is a principle of action and power. If we are willing to act, we will be blessed with the strength to repent and with the strength to change.

We fail only if we fail to take another faithful step forward. We will not, we cannot, fail if we are faithfully yoked to the Savior. He who has never failed and will never fail us!"

Choose the Light

This post is based on a recent General Conference talk called "Choose the Light" by Elder Vern P. Stanfill. I love the talk so much. I would like to share with you some highlights while I was reading the talk this evening. He mentions,

"We may feel confident that we are ready to face these challenges only to find that our preparations have been insufficient” he said. “Apostolic voices urge us to prepare ourselves with the powerful light of spiritual strength.”
First, no matter how intense the darkness of doubt, “we choose how long and to what extent we allow it to influence us. “We must remember how much our Heavenly Father and His Son love us. They will neither abandon us, nor will They allow us to be overcome if we seek Their help,

Second, we must trust in the Lord in order to develop spiritual strength within ourselves,
Latter-day Saints cannot rely upon the light of others forever, he said. “We must act, expecting that the Lord will fulfill His promise to lift us from the darkness if we draw near unto Him. The adversary, however, will try to convince us that we have never felt the influence of the Spirit and that it will be easier just to stop trying.”

Third, there is no darkness so dense, so menacing, or so difficult that it cannot be overcome by light, “We have not been left alone to be influenced by every whim and change in the world’s attitude, but we have the power to choose belief over doubt. In order to access the promised compensatory spiritual power, we must choose to heed prophetic counsel, recognize and act upon spiritual promptings, be obedient to God’s commandments, and seek personal revelation. We must choose. May we choose the light of the Savior.”

I encourage you to read the talk in your own time. It is a great talk. Here's the link,

2 Months Ago since My Car Accident

Today has reached 2 months ago since my car accident and I still remember it if it just happened last night. I still remember my mixed feelings about the car accident. I felt discouraged, shocked, disappointment, and I was crying so much. My first car has been written off. I didn't deserve to have a car accident.

When I was on my way to Brassall Chapel, I thought about some questions. I would like to share with you those questions and I encourage you to think about the questions for 3 to 5 minutes. .
What was some of the teaching lessons from this accident happening to me?
Why did this car accident happened to me and not to someone else?
What did I do to deserve this car accident?
Some answers came to my mind as I was thinking about those questions.
I didn't do anything wrong. Satan was trying to stop me from progressing on my mission papers.
I know he will try some of his nasty ways/traps to stop me going on a mission because he has stopped a few of my friends from going on their missions.

The outcomes from Satan stopping them to go on their missions wasn't nice and pleasant. I know one of the major outcomes for them was falling away from Church because I no longer see them at Church activities and going to the Temple often which makes me sad.

I would like to share with you 4 major teaching lessons that I have learnt from the car accident. 1. Allow Heavenly Father to give me another chance/live longer.
2. Continue to put my faith and trust in Heavenly Father always.
3. To gain a stronger testimony in Heavenly Father.
4. To experience it.

Can you believe it, it has been 2 months ago since my car accident?
Well I can't believe it, and I do continue to move forward each day and each night since the car accident. I am happy to be still alive today and I love getting chances to become better person over and over again.

You may ask "Is there anything I can do to help you?"
The short answer is Yes, click section "Please Help Me Out" and find out the details on there.

4 Simple Steps to Self-Improvement

I encourage you to allow some time to yourself to think about the following few questions.
What does "self worth" means to you? What does "self improvement" means to you?
How do you keep in track of your new improvements?

I would like to share with you my answers of those questions.
What does "self worth" means to me? It means nobody is like me.
For an example, I do my own way of doing things.

What does "self improvement" means to me? It means to see what things needs to improve on.
For an example, I would like to improve on my spirituality by doing readings for Institute during the week before I attend Institute the following week.

How do you keep in track of your new improvements? I keep in track of my new improvements in my mind and not in a journal.
4 Simple Steps to Self-Improvement by Sean Johnson. I would like to share with you some things that he mentioned.

"Change Is Hard
We all want to grow and learn and be better today than we were yesterday. So why is change so hard? Personal growth is essential to God’s plan. The Savior asks us to become “even as [He is].” How can we ever reach that lofty goal when we fall short of even our more modest ones?

Ask for Direction
We forget sometimes, when making plans to improve, to check in with the One who made the plan. The scriptures promise that “he shall direct [our] paths” if only we will ask—but do we remember to ask?

Think Small
Sometimes we’re required to make dramatic leaps of faith. But more often it’s the small hops that move us forward. Small adjustments over time can bring greater balance and peace to our lives.

Take Time to Reflect
“Set it and forget it” works great with our toaster ovens and online bill pay, but it’s a lousy approach to our goals. Regular self-checkins ensure we’re making progress (and give us a chance to make adjustments when we’re not). Simply asking, “How am I doing so far?” goes a long way.

Keep Trying
“One of God’s greatest gifts,” President Monson said, “is the joy of trying again, for no failure ever need be final.” Don’t let discouragement get the best of you when you fail at first (or second or third).

Keep going. Keep pushing. Keep trying."

Before I leave for my mission, I will be attending Institute Class in Toowoomba.

“If you are a single college student, I ask you to make participation in institute a priority. Married students and other young adults are also welcome and encouraged to attend. Think of it. Friends will be made, the Spirit will be felt, and faith will be strengthened. I promise you that as you participate in institute and study the scriptures diligently, your power to avoid temptation and to receive direction of the Holy Ghost in all you do will be increased. Divine favor will attend those who humbly seek it. That is a promise which I leave with you.” - President Thomas S. Monson (April 21, 2009)

Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!

Today was Australia Day/Aussie Day. Aussie Aussie Aussie. Oi, oi, oi! I am proud to be Australian.
I would like to wish a Happy Australia Day to my Australian readers!

I didn't do anything to celebrate Australia Day. Today, I only planned to edit some photos from a couple's engagement session. I ended up doing editing some photos a couple's recent engagement session, I babysat my 2 younger siblings, I made dinner, and done a few other things.

I know today was a Transfers Day for the Missionaries and My ward missionaries didn't get transferred. This new transfer will be a long transfer and it has 9 weeks until the next transfer. Normally transfers is 6 weeks, so it will be interesting experience for the Missionaries to look forward to.
I know 3 Missionaries who I have met during their missions, has finished their missions and left Brisbane Airport this morning to head their way home to reunite with their families and friends. I didn't go to the Brisbane Airport to say my final goodbyes to them but I want to share with you how I met those missionaries, where was the last time I saw them and where are they from.

Final goodbyes to Sister Tagiloa until we see each other again. I met her at Brisbane Temple, the last time when I saw her was at Brisbane Temple and she is from Samoa.

Final goodbyes to Sister J Iruato until we see each other again. I met her during Sister Missionaries's trades off day and the last time when I saw her was at Brisbane Temple and she is from Arizona.

Final goodbyes to Elder J Dunlop until we see each other again. I met him at Brisbane Australia Mission Home, the last time when I saw him was at Brisbane Temple and he is from Perth, Australia.

I know they were great Missionaries who served in Brisbane Australia Mission.

Mission Papers has been Submitted

Hey Readers, I have great news to tell you. Yesterday afternoon, I found out the electronic version of my mission papers has been submitted! The mission call wait has began since yesterday. After I found out the electronic version of my mission papers has been submitted; I immediately decided to run down the hallway.

So that what I did, I ended up running down the hallway in my house. I couldn't help the fact that I was feeling great mixed emotions, full of joy, very happy and very excited. I must admit that I couldn't stop smiling. No one didn't see me when I was running down the hallway and no one didn't seem to show any excitement for me.

No one didn't seem to show any happiness for me and no one didn't seem to show any full of joy for me. I felt a little let down because of it but I didn't allow it to worry me.
I knew Heavenly Father was very happy for me. I knew Heavenly Father was very excited for me.
I knew Heavenly Father was very proud for me. I knew Heavenly Father was full of joy for me.

You can start messaging me or Facebook messaging me or commenting below or on anywhere else I get notified about your guesses when I might be leaving home, your guesses where I might get called to serve to, your guesses what language I might have to prepare to preach the gospel in and your guesses what Missionary Training Center (MTC) will I report to.

I would love to know, it will be very interesting for me to read those guesses. I am not picky about where I want to go, I am not picky about what Missionary Training Center (MTC) will I report to and I am not picky about what language I will have to prepare to preach the gospel in.

If you have any questions about the missions, feel free to ask me. I would be happy to answer.

Wanted: Hands and Hearts to Hasten the Work

This post is based on talk called "Wanted: Hands and Hearts to Hasten the Work by Linda K. Burton in April General Conference 2014"
She explains a lot through the talk that has stood out to me. I will be sharing with you of some highlight. "What does it mean to you to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Help Wanted

• Help wanted: parents to bring up their children in light and truth

• Help wanted: those who listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and act on impressions received

• Help wanted: rescuers to find those who have lost their way

• Help wanted: covenant keepers to stand firm for truth and right

There was other Help Wanted's, but I thought sharing some with you will be enough. I loved how Linda close this talk. She mentioned "As true disciples, may we offer our willing hearts and our helping hands to hasten His work. It does not matter if, like Brynn, we have only one hand. It does not matter if we are not yet perfect and complete.

We are devoted disciples who reach out and help each other along the way. Our sisterhood reaches across the generations to those faithful sisters who have walked before. Together, as sisters and in unity with living prophets, seers, and revelators with restored priesthood keys, we can walk as one, as disciples, as servants with willing hearts and hands to hasten the work of salvation. As we do so, we will become like the Savior. I so testify in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

In your own time, I encourage you to read the talk. Here's the link below for the talk.

Be Yourself

This post is short and sweet. I encourage you to be yourself and not pretending to be someone else. Otherwise it would be heartbreaking when someone finds out the real you after you pretended to be someone else for awhile.
If you can't see the Image above, it says "Be Yourself. Accept Yourself. Value Yourself. Forgive Yourself. Bless Yourself. Express Yourself. Trust Yourself. Love Yourself. Empower Yourself."

Be honest of you truly are and don't be afraid of telling others who you are because people would like to get to know you. Also people would like to be able to build trust with you as the friendship grows, as grows for the length of time of being friends with. I strongly encourage you to think about what the Image says.

If you aren't doing some of them, I encourage you to try your best to act upon it. It can take time, effort and other trusting a lot to yourself that you can do it. Don't allow others to stop you of being yourself. It is good to be yourself!

Brightness of Hope

This post is based on a October 1994 General Conference talk "Brightness of Hope by Neal A. Maxwell." After reading a few paragraphs of the talk, I thought about that the talk will make a great blog post based. I encourage you to think about your definition of "Hope." Here are the some highlights while I was reading the talk.

Neal A. Maxwell mentions,

"Hope helps us to walk by faith, not by sight. This can actually be safer. When unaided spiritually, natural sight often shrinks from the odds (see 2 Cor. 5:7). It is immobilized by improbabilities. Mauled by his moods and intimidated by his fears, the natural man overreacts to, while hope overrides, the disappointments of the day.

Hope is particularly needed in the hand-to-hand combat required to put off the natural man (see Mosiah 3:19). Giving up on God and on oneself constitutes simultaneous surrender to the natural man.

By pressing forward, we can stand on what was yesterday’s horizon, thereby drawing hope from our own experiences. Hence Paul described how “tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope” (Romans. 5:3–4).

Only the acceptance of the revelations of God can bring both direction and correction and, in turn, bring a “brightness of hope” (2 Nephi. 31:20). Real hope does not automatically “spring eternal” unless it is connected with eternal things!

“What is it that ye shall hope for?” Moroni wrote. “Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ” (Moro. 7:41; see also Alma 27:28). From this triumphal act, resulting in the eventual resurrection of all mankind, so many lesser hopes derive their significance!
You and I can be repeatedly reassured concerning this grand hope by the Comforter, who teaches us the truth about “things as they really are, and … really will be” (Jacob 4:13; see also Moroni. 8:26). Such hope constitutes the “anchor of the soul” (Hebrews. 6:19). Such hope is retained through faith in Christ (see Alma 25:16; Ether 12:9). In contrast, a resurrection-less view of life produces only proximate hope (see 1 Corthians. 15:19).

Having ultimate hope does not mean we will always be rescued from proximate problems, but we will be rescued from everlasting death! Meanwhile, ultimate hope makes it possible to say the same three words used centuries ago by three valiant men. They knew God could rescue them from the fiery furnace, if He chose. “But if not,” they said, nevertheless, they would still serve Him! (Daniel. 3:18.)

Faith and hope are constantly interactive, and may not always be precisely distinguished or sequenced. Though not perfect knowledge either, hope’s enlivened expectations are “with surety” true (Ether 12:4; see also Romans. 8:24; Hebrews. 11:1; Alma 32:21). In the geometry of restored theology, hope has a greater circumference than faith. If faith increases, the perimeter of hope stretches correspondingly.

Humble hope helps us to improve by being sufficiently free of ego to ask, “Lord, is it I?” (Matthew. 26:22.) Submissive hope also readies us to “give away all [our] sins” because we have come to know Jesus, who alone can take them! (Alma 22:18.)"

You Matter to Him

Warning: You might cry while reading this post. This post is based on a October 2011 General Conference talk by Dieter F. Utchdorf called "You Matter to Him."
If you can't see what the Image says, it says "At times, we may even feel insignificant, invisible, alone, or forgotten. But always remember you matter to Him. - Dieter F. Utchdorf."

I would love to share with you some highlights while I reading the talk.

"The Lord uses a scale very different from the world’s to weigh the worth of a soul.

We Are Greater Than We Suppose
But even though man is nothing, it fills me with wonder and awe to think that “the worth of souls is great in the sight of God."

The Folly of Pride
Disciples of Jesus Christ understand that compared to eternity, our existence in this mortal sphere is only “a small moment” in space and time. They know that a person’s true value has little to do with what the world holds in high esteem. They know you could pile up the accumulated currency of the entire world and it could not buy a loaf of bread in the economy of heaven.

Those who will “inherit the kingdom of God” are those who become “as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love.” “For every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” Such disciples understand also “that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”

We Are Not Forgotten
Another way Satan deceives is through discouragement. He attempts to focus our sight on our own insignificance until we begin to doubt that we have much worth. He tells us that we are too small for anyone to take notice, that we are forgotten especially by God."

I encourage you to read the whole talk in your own time, here's the link below.

"I would love to testify to you that I know you matter to Jesus Christ, you also matter to Heavenly Father, friends and relatives. They love you and they care about you. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is always by your side.

Whenever you are feeling down, they are feeling down with you. Whenever you are feeling happy, they are feeling happy with you. Don't ever feel like you have been forgotten because you haven't been forgotten to them and you haven't been forgotten to me.

Always remember to press forward, and always remember to pray always. Heavenly Father is waiting for you to pray to him each day and each night. Never give up hope. I leave these things are true, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

I would also would love to share with you a mormon message that goes with this talk but it has pointed out a few things that I have mentioned. Here's the link below,

Today was Alright and Long Day

Today wasn't a great day and today wasn't a bad day either. Overall today was a long alright day.
How was your day today? Was it a great day or was it a bad day? Was it a alright and long day?

This morning around 11am, I left home and I didn't arrive home until around lunch time.
Then I went back out again and I didn't come arrive back home again until around 4:20pm.

You may ask me, "Where were you today? and what did you do today?"
Most of today, I was with the Sister Missionaries because they invited me to go with them to attend appointments (by being a member present), teaching lessons and do some door knocking.

Some of the appointments that was scheduled today has fell through because one member wasn't home, one investigator wasn't home, former church member had to reschedule until next week, and two former investigators was about to leave their houses to go out (in other words, bad timing for having their appointments today).

I must say today was a very hot day to do door knocking. The Sister Missionaries and I walked for about 30 minutes to 40 minutes to do door knocking. Some people wasn't interested. Some people didn't answer because they weren't home. Some people answered the door and even someone asked someone else if they wanted Latter-Day Saints over.
I had a few highlights today. I would love to share with you one of those highlights was.
This highlight that I will be sharing with you, is my favourite highlight.

During our lesson with Jake; Sister Burgess, her companion Sister Kalwit and I talked with Jake about many things. I would like to share with you some of those things that was mentioned as listed below and not in order.

- We all have choices to make in this life. Every act we do, has consequences behind it.
- The Word of Wisdom, we need to treat our bodies like the Temple.
- Heavenly Father hears all of his children's prayers.
- Sometimes Heavenly Father's timing is best.

I know what the Sister Missionaries and I have mentioned to Jake this afternoon was true.
We had some amazing moments when Sister Burgess, Sister Kalwit and myself to share our testimonies based on what we all mentioned this day either about our own personal experiences and how the gospel blesses our lives. It was great. Jake understood everything that was said.

The main purpose is to invite Jake to pray always, pray everyday, pray every night, pray with real intent and have a soften heart and always put faith and trust in Heavenly Father.

I encourage you if you aren't a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, to look up www.mormon.org and find out who is your local missionaries through either a friend who is a member or family member.

Once you find out who is your local missionaries are, get their contact details/phone details and give them a phone call. Ask them if you can arrange a appointment to meet with them and then work out from there.

A Successful Evening

This evening was a successful evening. How was your evening?

This evening was a successful evening because I had a interview with my Stake President about my mission papers process and it went successful.

Before the interview; I must say that I was feeling very happy, very excited and a little nervous.
During the interview; I must say that I was no longer feeling nervous, felt confident and happy.
I also felt Heavenly Father's presence, it felt like if he was sitting next to me and telling me what to say next. I must say it was amazing feeling.
I said one silent prayer before walking into Stake President's office. After I walked into his office, Stake President asked me if I can start with a prayer before the interview begins. Prayers works!

You may ask, "How does prayers works?"
Prayers works whenever you are praying to Heavenly Father with real intent and soften heart.
Prayers also works whenever you are having faith and trusting in Heavenly Father.

If you feel like your prayers isn't working, there are some reasons why. I would like to share with you two possible reasons why. Reason 1: Heavenly Father wants to answer you in his timing and not your timing. Reason 2: You are praying to Heavenly Father with no real intent and a harden heart.

Mission Papers process is completed! All of my part for the mission papers is done.

You Are either My Friend or Not

I know from many experiences, that making friends was very hard and difficult.
I know from many experiences, that making friends was very easy and all great.
I know from many experiences, that making friends is still working in process.

I have many friends who are older than me. I have some friends who are younger than me.
I cherished my best friends, my close friends and my true friends the most.
My best friends, my close friends and my true friends means a lot to me.

If you are my friend who lives near me, we would make the effort to spend some time together.
If you are my friend, you would worry if something goes wrong for me and make sure I am okay.
If you are my friend, you would be someone who can talks to me when I need someone to talk to.
If you are my friend, you would tell me not to give up whenever I am about to quit.
If you are my friend, you would be happy and proud for my achievements.

If you are my friend, you would know that I would worry when something goes wrong for you and make sure you are okay, you would know that be someone who talks to you when you need someone to talk to, you would know I will tell you to not give up whenever you are about to quit, you know I would be someone who will be happy and proud of your achievements.

If we are friends, we would talk to each other with kind and uplifting words.
If we are friends, we would make the effort to stay friends as long as we can.

If we are friends, we would make the effort to talk to each other often.
If we are friends, we should rarely be rude to each other.

I know whenever I don't see a particular friend at Church, I would always make the effort to text her to check up on her. I know it is very nice for me to do that and I know she appreciates it a lot.

You will have to choose, you are either my friend or not. I am happy with if we are still friends.
I will have to get over it if we aren't friends .. anymore.

I hope this post gives you a huge insight about what I am looking for in a friend.
I do apologise if anything that I mentioned seemed to be rude to you.

One Interview Down, One Interview to go

I got all excited and very happy until the moment when I walked into Bishop's office.
While Bishop Smith in Priesthood for a short time, I noticed my excitement and my happiness face stopped showing. I was showing my nervous and I know that I had nothing to worry about.

I prayed to Heavenly Father for comfort, the interview will go great, help me what to say and a few other things. I instantly felt all excited and happy again after the prayer and I read a few scripture verses. When Bishop Smith walked in, I instantly felt Heavenly Father's presence.
The Interview with Bishop Smith went great and very fast. I was very grateful for that.

I kept reminding myself that I came a long way to get there, I had nothing to worry about, the interview with my Bishop before having a interview with my Stake President before the mission papers getting submitted is a must/it is apart of the process.
I really didn't want to give up. I also really didn't want to disappoint Heavenly Father, my family and my true friends if I quit before getting a chance to have a interview with my Bishop and before getting my mission papers submitted. I really want to serve a mission.

I want to make myself proud, I want to make Heavenly Father proud, I want to make true friends proud and I want to make my family proud. I know I am making the right decision to go on a mission. Not long to go. I am very excited.

I will be having my interview with my Stake President this Tuesday night.  I am really looking forward of how that interview will go. Between now and that day, I will try my best to remain happy, control my happiness and stay calm.

Choose Wisely

This post is based on October 2014 General Conference talk by Elder Quentin L. Cook called "Choose Wisely." I would love to share with you some highlights while reading this talk.
“Refuse the evil, and choose the good” - Isaiah 7:15.

 He mentions the following,
"I believe it is of particular importance in our day, when Satan is raging in the hearts of men in so many new and subtle ways, that our choices and decisions be made carefully, consistent with the goals and objectives by which we profess to live. We need unequivocal commitment to the commandments and strict adherence to sacred covenants. When we allow rationalizations to prevent us from temple endowments, worthy missions, and temple marriage, they are particularly harmful. It is heartbreaking when we profess belief in these goals yet neglect the everyday conduct required to achieve them.

Distractions and opposition to righteousness are not just on the Internet; they are everywhere. They affect not just the youth but all of us. We live in a world that is literally in commotion. We are surrounded by obsessive portrayals of “fun and games” and immoral and dysfunctional lives. These are presented as normal conduct in much of the media.

Elder David A. Bednar recently cautioned members to be authentic in the use of social media. A prominent thought leader, Arthur C. Brooks, has emphasized this point. He observes that when using social media, we tend to broadcast the smiling details of our lives but not the hard times at school or work. We portray an incomplete life sometimes in a self-aggrandizing or fake way. We share this life, and then we consume the “almost exclusively … fake lives of [our] social media ‘friends.’” Brooks asserts, “How could it not make you feel worse to spend part of your time pretending to be happier than you are, and the other part of your time seeing how much happier others seem to be than you?”

Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in frivolous foolishness, nonsensical noise, and continuous contention. When we turn down the volume and examine the substance, there is very little that will assist us in our eternal quest toward righteous goals. One father wisely responds to his children with their numerous requests to participate in these distractions. He simply asks them, “Will this make you a better person?”

When we rationalize wrong choices, big or small, which are inconsistent with the restored gospel, we lose the blessings and protections we need and often become ensnared in sin or simply lose our way.
I believe Elder Dallin H. Oaks’s inspired message distinguishing between “good, better, best” provides an effective way to evaluate choices and priorities. Many choices are not inherently evil, but if they absorb all of our time and keep us from the best choices, then they become insidious.

My intent is not to discourage participation in sports or the use of the Internet or other worthwhile activities young people enjoy. They are the kind of activities that require moderation, balance, and wisdom. When used wisely, they enrich our lives.

However, I encourage everyone, young and old, to review goals and objectives and strive to exercise greater discipline. Our daily conduct and choices should be consistent with our goals. We need to rise above rationalizations and distractions. It is especially important to make choices consistent with our covenants to serve Jesus Christ in righteousness. We must not take our eyes off or drop that ball for any reason.

This life is the time to prepare to meet God. We are a happy, joyous people. We appreciate a good sense of humor and treasure unstructured time with friends and family. But we need to recognize that there is a seriousness of purpose that must undergird our approach to life and all our choices. Distractions and rationalizations that limit progress are harmful enough, but when they diminish faith in Jesus Christ and His Church, they are tragic."

Two Options to Choose from

This post is short and sweet.

Hey Readers, I have exciting news to announce! I would love to share that new with you.
My Stake President's secretary called me yesterday afternoon unexpectedly and at the right time.
I liked the phone call conversation, it was brief and short but that was alright with me. Luckily.

The main purpose of the phone call conversation was arranging a day or evening when I can get to see my Stake President for an interview about mission papers and before my mission papers get submitted. I had two options.
Option 1: To wait until Sunday, January 24th when the Stake President will be attending my ward or Option 2: To wait until Tuesday, January 19th at the Stake Center.

I chose Option 2 because I didn't want to wait a extra week to see my Stake President after having a interview with my Bishop. I would rather wait for a short time and hopefully that means my mission papers will be submitted sooner. I even decided to change my availability date which is early May instead of mid March or mid April.

I look forward to have an interview with Stake President on next Tuesday night about my mission papers. I really hope the interview will go great and successful for me. I don't want to delay my mission papers any longer. I am very feeling excited and a bit nervous to have an interview with my Stake President but I think that is normal and I think I will be okay.

I don't have much else to say regarding about my mission papers for now.

A Secure Anchor

This post is based on a October 2006 General Conference talk (Saturday afternoon session) by Richard G. Scott called "The Atonement Can Secure Your Peace and Happiness."
I would love to share with you some of the highlights from me reading the talk.

He mentions, "True, enduring happiness, with the accompanying strength, courage, and capacity to overcome the greatest difficulties, will come as you center your life in Jesus Christ."

Here's a video below of a great example of a secure anchor.
If you can't see the video above, here's the link. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnkwLCGuZ24

He continues and said "I believe that no matter how diligently you try, you cannot with your human mind fully comprehend the eternal significance of the Atonement nor fully understand how it was accomplished. We can only appreciate in the smallest measure what it cost the Savior in pain, anguish, and suffering or how difficult it was for our Father in Heaven to see His Son experience the incomparable challenge of His Atonement. Even so, you should conscientiously study the Atonement to understand it as well as you can. You can learn what is needful to live His commandments, to enjoy peace and happiness in mortal life. You can qualify, with obedient family members, to live with Him and your Father in Heaven forever.

I testify that with unimaginable suffering and agony at an incalculable price, the Savior earned His right to be our Redeemer, our Intermediary, our Final Judge. I know that He lives and that He loves you. Consistently make Him your “lead” in life. The secure anchors of His laws will assure safety and success as you scale the challenges you will face. You will not fall into serious transgression. Yours will be a life of peace and happiness crowned with exaltation in the celestial kingdom. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
I encourage you to read this whole talk in your own time. It is a great talk based on Atonement.
Here's the link to the talk below. I hope you will enjoy reading the talk as much as I did.

2 Final Steps til Mission Papers is Done

Hey Readers, guess what? I encourage you to think for a few minutes about your guesses.
Don't even look at the blog post title again, it gives away a major helpful hint.
If you look, I don't even want to know and I wouldn't judge you either.

If one of your guesses was "Megan's mission papers is so close to finish,"
Well congratulations, you were right! I am very happy for my efforts so far.
I would love to share with you of my excitement about the most recent update for my mission papers process and I am happy to announce my mission papers is so close to finish.
Medical Work was finished in mid November 2015. Dental Work was finished this morning.

All left to do is 2 Interviews. 1 interview with my Bishop. 1 interview with my Stake President.
The interview with my Bishop is booked on this upcoming Sunday and I haven't set a day or evening to see my Stake President for an interview with him yet. I think I should get onto that as soon as possible. I must admit that I am very excited to see how far I came. Not long to go now.

Are you happy for me? Are you proud of me?

When the mission papers are finished and submitted, the wait begins. You may ask me, "What will you be waiting for? I will be waiting for my mission call to arrive in the mail. It takes about 3 weeks to 6 weeks. I always remind myself that the wait for my mission call to arrive will be worth it.

A Terrific Day and Evening!

Today was a terrific day! I would like to share with you about my day and my evening.

I enjoyed spending some time with my sister Emma before dropping her off at FSY/EFY this morning. I enjoyed spending some time to myself. I enjoyed my time at the Temple.
I enjoyed spending some time with my close friend Sofronaiia.

This morning before I went to the Temple and after I dropped Emma off at FSY, I went for a drive to Brighton Park. It was a lovely place, the weather was perfect and I took some photos. Some photos of me and some photos of my set of scriptures. I was very proud of how great the photos turned out.
On the way to the Temple, I got myself lost. I drove past the Airport and no etoll route either. It was very fun and frustrating drive but I got over it. I rarely use my phone as a GPS to tell me the directions of how to get to the Temple. I eventually arrived at the Temple around 1pm or 2pm.

This afternoon at the Temple, while I was sitting inside the chapel, I saw a Blue Tongue Lizard.
I was crazy enough to decide to hold it and get a few photos while holding and it was awesome.
I even saw a mouse running at the Temple near the garden is while I was with Sofronaiia.

I was able to see some Missionaries while they were at the Temple this afternoon.
It was good seeing them again and I am sure it was good for them to see me again.

Temple was definitely a place to be this afternoon and this evening. I was there for 8 to 9 hours.
This evening, I attended a session with Sofronaiia and 6 others. The session was really great!

How was your day? How was your evening? Did you have any highlights throughout your day?

I hoped your day was good and I hoped your evening was good as well.

I also would like to share with you, a few of my cheerful favourite memories.

My cheerful childhood memories:
The days whenever I went swimming at next door's neighbour's swimming pool.
The days whenever I spent some time with some of my friends at school.
The days whenever I walked to school and when I walked home.

My cheerful teen years memories:
The week when I went to SMYC/EFY 2014, it was a spiritual and uplifting week for Year 2014.
The week when I went to EFY 2012, it was a best spiritual and uplifting week for Year 2012.
The week when I went to End of Year YSA Convention in Perth 2014. It was great and fun.

My cheerful favourite memories:
Most days and most evenings whenever I go to the Temple (either Perth or Brisbane Temple).
The days whenever I go out with the Missionaries to share the gospel and gain experiences.
The memories when I spent some time with my family, my grandparents and my cousin.

Happiness for Those We Love

This post is based on a article from the current liahona called "Happiness for Those We Love by Henry B. Erying." I would like to share with you some highlights as I was reading the article.

"All of us want happiness for those we love, and we want as little pain for them as possible. As we read the accounts of happiness and of pain in the Book of Mormon, our hearts are stirred as we think of our loved ones.

Loving disciples of Christ pray and work for such a blessing for others and for themselves. From accounts in the Book of Mormon and, for many of us, from our own experience, we know that the gift of happiness is attainable. We know that the path to happiness is well marked. We also know that maintaining happiness is not easy unless, as with the Nephites after the Savior’s visit, “the love of God” dwells in our hearts.
Teaching from This Message
President Eyring teaches that the happiness we feel in life depends on the decisions we make. As you discuss this message, consider focusing on the things President Eyring mentions we can choose to do (such as praying, working, exercising faith, and committing ourselves with real intent) to lead us to that path of happiness. You could invite those you teach to write down two or three actions they would like to take that can better direct them to “the path to lasting happiness.”

Actions That Lead to Happiness
President Eyring teaches that “the happiness we want for our loved ones depends on their choices.”

You can read about the effect that choices can have from the examples of Nephi, Laman, and Lemuel. Laman and Lemuel murmured and didn’t want to keep the commandments (see 1 Nephi 2:12). As a result, they and their descendants were cursed and cut off from the Lord’s presence (see 2 Nephi 5:20–24). Nephi chose to obey the commandments (see 1 Nephi 3:7), and because of that, he and his people “lived after the manner of happiness” (2 Nephi 5:27).

You can choose to be righteous and be happy. But people around you will probably still make poor choices that lead to misery or discomfort. While those decisions are theirs to make, your example can influence their choices for good. How can your choices bring happiness to others? Discuss with your family different ways you can positively influence those around you and help them feel happiness.

Any choice not to keep the Lord’s commandments can cause the Spirit to withdraw from our hearts. With that loss, happiness diminishes. The happiness we want for our loved ones depends on their choices.

Beauty Comes from the Heart

This post is short and sweet. A recent song that I loved is called "Inside Out by Aaliyah Rose."
For the first time of me listening to the song, I wanted to keep listening to the song over and over again. If you haven't heard the song before, I encourage you to listen to the song in your own time. Below is the audio of the song. The song is one of the EFY songs.
If you can't see the video above, here's the link. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vVfj5s8XaM
If you listened to the song, I encourage you to think about the following two questions.
What were your thoughts about the song? What was your favourite part if you have one?

I will share with you about my thoughts about the song and my favourite part of the song.
My thoughts about the song was, the song has a great tune, it is a great song and I liked a part that mentions "You don't have to dress like anyone else does." is very true because I don't dress like anyone else. My favourite part of the song was "Beauty comes from the heart ..."
I don't know why it was my favourite part but I really loved that part. It is very true.

When Your Faith Is Challenged

This post is short and sweet. I got this post idea from the current issue of New Era online.
These are seven ideas what you can do when your faith is challenged.
1. Start with what you know.
2. Determine the doctrine that your question is tied to.
3. Put it in the perspective of God’s plan of salvation.
4. Talk with a parent or leader you trust.
5. Invite the Spirit with a sincere heart.
6. Ask with humility and a willingness to act on what you learn.
7. Be willing to wait.

1 Filling Done + Missionary Work

I would like to share with you a few things of what I have achieved this day.
Today was a productive, good, and long day. This morning, I got one out of two fillings done. From 10:30am - 5:40pm, I was with the Sister Missionaries; Sister Burgess and Sister Tagiloa.

Today was a different experience when I was with the Sister Missionaries and I didn't fully understand why. However I think one of the main reasons for gaining a different experience because some people are spending their Summer holidays/vacation break away from home.

The Sister Missionaries and I took turns of saying the prayer, either for an individual or for a family or invite to the spirit to be with us. I know some appointments fell through, it was canceled due to sickness and other reasons. I didn't feel discouraged. I continued to stay positive. I know a few backup plans went successful. I shared some insights that are true.
I found out one of the investigator's family has moved out of their previous area 6 months ago but they didn't moved too far away. Me and the Sister Missionaries was able to have afternoon tea with a elderly couple who are Less Actives.

A highlight of the day was when we were walking on streets in Lowood to do door knocking.
I really loved when Sister Tagiloa was asking 5 questions to a few people who we have met.
I remembered the questions that she asked and those 5 questions was;

"What matters most to you in this life?"
"Why does that something/someone matters the most to you in this life?"
"Have you ever pondered to God to ask, why am I here? Where am I going after this life? etc" "Is the Bible just a history book or the word of God?"
"Have you ever been baptised?"

I would love to share with you my answers to those questions,
My Family matters the most to me in this life, they mean a lot to me, especially my parents.
I haven't pondered to God to ask why am I here, where am I going after this life because I know why I am here and I know where I am going after this life. Bible is a word of God. I've been baptised into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints almost 12 years ago.

I encourage to you think about the following questions in your own time;
How was your day? What was your highlight of the day? Was it a productive day?
Was it a good day? Was it a long day?

If your day doesn't have a highlight; that's okay, make sure tomorrow has a highlight.
If your day wasn't productive; that's okay, make sure tomorrow would be a productive day.
If your day wasn't good; that's okay, make sure tomorrow would be good day.

One filling and two interviews to go until my mission papers will be completed and submitted.

24 Months in Melbourne Australia {M Lawler}

This post is short and sweet. One of my friends got his mission call.
He opened his mission call this evening.

"Dear Elder Lawler,
You are hereby called called to serve as a missionary of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Australia Melbourne Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months. You should report to the New Zealand Missionary Training Centre on Thursday, February 11, 2016."
Above is a photo was taken during our friend Elder Andrew Booth's Mission Farewell Party in December, 2014.

Who would have thought that he is going to Melbourne Australia Mission?
Who would have thought that he leave on a day after my 20th Birthday?

Well not me. I remembered during the last phone call conversation to him was mentioned he submitted his mission papers and I had a few things to go until my mission papers can be submitted. I guess I could say this year is slowly going fast. It is great to know that one of my guy friends will be leaving for his mission the day after my 20th Birthday.

Future Elder Lawler if you are reading this post right now, "I would like to say congratulations, you will be a great Missionary who is serving in Melbourne Australia Mission. All the best during your mission."

Find Comfort, Find Hope, Be Strengthened and Be Mended

I love this Image that has a quote from Jeffrey R. Holland. It is a great quote to be used as a motivation and a blog post.
If you can't see the Image aboveit says "If you are lonely, please know you can find comfort. If you are discouraged, please know you can find hope. If you are poor in spirit, please know you can be strengthened. If you feel you are broken, please know you can be mended. - Jeffrey R. Holland."

It is great to have this quote as a constant reminder. I know that I will be using the quote as as my constant reminder in my everyday life. I encourage you to always try to remember the quote as a constant reminder. If you want to and if you have a journal, you can write the quote.

In your own time, you can think about what this quote means to you. As for me, it means
"I will always try my best to know that I can find ways to get myself to feel comfort.
I will always try my best to know that I can find ways to get myself to feel hope.

I will always try my best to know that I can find ways to get myself to be strengthened.
I will always try my best to know that I can find ways to get myself to be mended.
By doing all those things through decisions."

I hope the quote will help you along each day and each night. I encourage you to find comfort.
I encourage you to find hope. I encourage you to be strengthen. I encourage you to be mended.

I know Heavenly Father will be there to help us to feel all of what has mentioned in the quote because he has helped me so many times. Don't be afraid to ask Heavenly Father for some help. He is willing to help us to become happy and guide us on the right path to return back to him to be with him again.

Change in the Making

This post is short and sweet. I really love a song called "Change in the Making by Addison Road." I like Mercy River's version of the song and I can't find their version.

If you haven't heard the song before, I encourage you to listen to the song in your own time. Below is the video of the song lyrics.
If you can't see the video above, here's the link below.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU2drg8FtBg

If you have listened to the song, what was your favourite part of the song?
My favourite part was "There's a better version of me that I can't quite see but things are gonna change."
My favourite part applies to me because I know there is a better version of me that I can't quite see. I know the mission will change me. It will change my life. During my mission, I hope I will be able to apply more Christ-like attributes to my everyday life and to everyone who I meet.

During my mission, I think I will have so much love for my family, so much love for the Saviour, so much love for my Heavenly Father, so much love for my friends and so much love for anyone who I meet.

1st Sabbath for Year 2016

Today was a good day and I would like to share with you some things what I did today.
I done some scripture reading, I fasted for 2 meals for a few reasons, I attended Church,
I started writing a few letters and I was able to fulfill my Calling during Sunday School.

The main focus for this post is based on Pacific Area Goals for Year 2016.
I would like to share with you what I have learnt during Relief Society.

Pacific Area Plan Vision for Year 2016 is: To strengthen families and individuals by increasing faith and trust in Heavenly Father and in Jesus Christ and His Atonement.
I hope you can see the Image above. If you can't, it displays a image about the Objectives and Goals for Year 2016 from Pacific Area Presidency. During Relief Society, we discussed about the ways to achieve the goals and put it into action.

If you can see the Image and in your own time, I encourage you to think about the goals and think about your goals that relates to each objective. Also during your time, feel free to write down those goals for each objective. I will share with you, my basic goals as an example.

1. Honour the Sabbath Day at Home and at Church:
- At home before and after Church, I will listen to Church music and watch Church movies
- At Church, reflect on my previous week and be ready to partake the sacrament

2. Increase Spiritual and Temporal Self-Reliance:
- Pay full tithing

3. Hasten the Work of Salvation:

1st Temple Visit for Year 2016

Today was great. My sister Emma and I attended our first Baptistery Session for Year 2016.
It was great spending some time with her. It was my idea to suggest for me and her to go.
Despite she didn't want to have any photos with me at the Temple today but that's okay.
I still took some photos of the Temple and myself. Someone took some photos of me too.

In the past whenever I drove to Brisbane Temple, it would normally take me 1 hour and 20 minutes but today was different, good traffic and it took me 45 minutes to 50 minutes to get there. I felt very amazed of how slow time was going and I got there in a short time.
Temple is definitely a place to be when you need to feel true happiness.
Temple is definitely a place to be when you need to feel true peace.

One of the reasons why I mentioned those things above because when I know when I am inside the Temple, I wouldn't be using my phone for going on social media, texting, making phone calls, etc.

Another reason why I mentioned those things because inside the Temple, helps me to stay fully focused in tuned with the spirit, seeking personal revelations for myself, reading New Era Articles brings me happiness, reading Ensign Articles brings me happiness. focus on the true meaning and purpose why I am at the Temple.

If you have a current Temple Recommend, I invite you to make a booking and make the effort to go to the Temple. Before making a booking and attending a session, ask yourself the Temple Interview questions. If you feel that you are worthy, go ahead book a session and go to the Temple. I promise you if you do that, you will feel blessed and grateful that you have went to the Temple.

If you don't have a current Temple Recommend, I invite you to try your best to go to the Temple. If you go to the Temple, I would like you to focus on staying in tuned with the spirit and seek for personal revelations. I promise you if you do that, you will feel blessed and grateful that you have went to the Temple.

This post has 2 photos, The photos was taken today.
If you can't see the photos, the first photo is of me at the Temple.
Second photo is the photo that I took of the Temple while I was at the Temple.
